<\/p>\nBe kind to yourself in what you can realistically do \u2013 schools aren\u2019t expecting you to BE the teacher.<\/p>\n
For most parents, teaching is not\u00a0their\u00a0prime skill set, remember, teachers take years of training and learning to hone their craft.<\/p>\n
Talk to your child\u2019s teacher if you have concerns and ask for their assistance\u00a0in creating a\u00a0specific\u00a0framework to help your child under these circumstances.<\/p>\n
Home learning is not as interactive as face-to-face teaching<\/strong><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\nThere seems to be this underlying idea that the home learning environment will be the same as the in-school environment.<\/p>\n
But it\u2019s not. It\u2019s completely different \u2013 so we need to be flexible in our expectations around this, and what is going to be achieved.<\/p>\n
Everyone is in the same boat<\/strong><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\nThis is such an important thing to remember when it comes to fears about your child \u201cfalling behind\u201d.<\/p>\n
Everyone in your child\u2019s school\u00a0(and across the state) are\u00a0now under the same learning structure.<\/p>\n
Again, chat with your child\u2019s teacher to work out some specific strategies that fit with your child and their learning in the home environment.<\/p>\n
